In the absence of transcription factor p63 (p63_/_), keratin type I (KtyI) and keratin type II (KytII) loci are found in close proximity to transcriptionally inactive chromocenters, rather than active RNA polymerase II (RNAPIIS2p), as in wild type (WT) keratinocytes.
